Delicious Smoking Robot
It would be the first if its kind, a robot designed to generate and replicate a specific scent found in almost any nightclub in any decade prior to the 1990s. Back then -- when smoking was commonplace -- it was a scent, an aroma, a fragrance. But now, these days, to most Americans it's an offensive stench.
No one really smokes like they used to. Milosh had often shown resourcefulness while he was at the Police Academy. He was always first to come up with a novel solution to a seemingly impossible problem. When other cadets were baffled by the riddles of crime solving, Milosh had already worked out one or two angles. It was uncanny. The Messiah’s halo was ever-changing as I recount my thoughts in slow motion. Sparks seemed to dance behind his head while people casually chatted around him. They were oblivious to His presence, and to the fact that a phenomenon was unfolding before them. They simply continued to nibble on the last of the stuffed mushrooms on their paper plates, cheeks bulging like squirrels, lips puckered, sucking the wine from their plastic glasses.
